About valtrenda

 ValTrenda is the owner of Ruth Catherine Women’s Institute, LLC (RCWI,LLC) where she is devoted to mentoring, motivating and enhancing women and girls ages 14 and beyond. ValTrenda is a native of Tampa, FL. She is the proud mother of two and has 14 siblings. 

ValTrenda is a psych major and possesses a degree in Counseling and Human Services. She is currently continuing her education in pursuit of becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She holds many national certifications such as a national suicide prevention,  a national mandated abuse reporter and Crisis Intervention. She has won numerous awards including The Tampa Bay Black Girls Rock for entertainment. 

ValTrenda is the Author of The Residue of Marriage&Divorce and Clearing The Residue of Marriage&Divorce that were released in May 2014. She is a radio host on The Urban Cafe that airs every Sunday mornings at 9am on WMNF 88.5fm. She currently hosts a podcast titled Single, Married & Divorce which captures the rawness of relationship talk. 
ValTrenda currently focuses on assisting those in building healthy, positive and effective relationships. She hosts seminars, speaks  on panels and conducts 1:1 coaching and group coaching sessions. As a performer, host and actress, ValTrenda has joined the stage with household name celebrities such as Stokley from Mint Condition, Gospel great Dorinda Clark-Cole, Coko from SWV, Actor Tony Grant from Tyler Perry shows, and more. She has been selected as the host of the annual Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival Music Fest for the past 3 consecutive years!

On ValTrenda's free time, she enjoys reading, watching movies with her family and listening to Nina Simone and Billie Holiday, two of her favorite female jazz vocalists along with 70s, 80s and 90s R&B. She takes out specific time to spend with her mentees and supporting her friends and family members. ValTrenda loves to cook Sunday dinners for her family and friends thanks to the down home-southern etiquette and recipes from her late paternal grandmother, Mother Ruth C. Hip'pard. ValTrenda's ultimate goal is to see healthy relationships all around the world. She will not stop until she feels her purpose is completed.
